For people whose person speaks another language
Bosun is a keyboard for your iPhone. You know the loop — copy their message, switch to a translator, paste, read, switch back, type, translate, copy, paste, send. Bosun deletes all of it. Type or dictate in your language, tap once, and only the translation lands in the chat — inside WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, wherever you already text. Copy a reply you can't read and it opens in yours.

The people reading the translations
Native speakers, receiving messages written through Bosun, told us unprompted that the translations were perfect — in four languages, without being asked.
«переклад супер»
A Ukrainian friend, reading my texts — “the translation is super”
«Переводчик супер»
A Russian speaker on the other end — “the translator is super”
“Chévere”
A Spanish speaker — nailed it
“Está perfeita! Pode lançar.”
A Portuguese speaker — “It's perfect! You can launch.”
Add Bosun once in Settings and it's a keyboard like any other — with a translate strip above the keys. Which button you tap decides the language.
Type in the strip above the keys, or tap the mic and speak. Dictation runs on your iPhone — no cost, nothing uploaded.
Tap the language key and only the translation enters the chat — Spanish, Russian, French, Portuguese, Ukrainian, and a dozen more. It's your app's own send button; they just see fluent text.
Copy their message and tap the clipboard key — it opens, translated, in a pane right above the keyboard. Nothing is read until you tap.
WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Instagram DMs, Mail, Notes — if it has a text field, it has Bosun. No linked accounts, no separate translator app.
Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, French and dozens more change word forms depending on who's speaking and who's being addressed. Tell Bosun once whether you're writing as a man or a woman, and to whom, and the grammar comes out right — the difference between a machine translation and something a native speaker reads without pausing. Google Translate can't do this, because it has no idea who you are.
Typing, emoji, and dictation cost nothing — ever. Translation is the only part that reaches the network, and you choose how it's paid for.
You don't only text from your phone. Bosun for Mac sits in the menu bar: hold one key, talk, and your words are typed — in your language or theirs — into whatever app your cursor is in. Highlight a message you can't read and it comes back in yours, in place. Dictation runs on your own Mac and is free forever.

Free 7-day trial of Pro — no card to start. And dictation in your own language stays free forever, plan or no plan.

Bosun for iPhone is in TestFlight beta, pending App Review. Leave your email and we'll send exactly one message the day it's live on the App Store — no list, no drip.
Android is coming too. Most of the world texts on Android, and so do a lot of the people you're writing to — Bosun for Android (Samsung and the rest) is on the way. The same email reaches you when it lands.
For now this opens an email to us — a proper sign-up form arrives with the beta.
Yes. Installing it, typing, emoji, and dictation all cost nothing, ever. Translation is the only part that reaches the network: run it on your own Anthropic API key and you pay Anthropic directly — a fraction of a cent a message — or subscribe to Bosun Pro and the AI is included. There's no trial that converts and no in-app purchase for the keyboard itself.
It's in TestFlight beta now and in App Review — coming to the App Store. Leave your email in the box above and we'll send one message the day it's live.
iOS keyboards have no network access by default. Translation needs to reach the model, so that one feature requires Full Access — the same requirement every translating keyboard has. Only the text you explicitly translate is ever sent, and nothing is logged or stored. Dictation is on-device and works with the permission switched off, and so does everything else the keyboard does.
No — the AI is included with Bosun Pro. If you’d rather run your own Anthropic account, Pro supports that too: paste your key in Settings and your text goes straight from your Mac to Anthropic, never touching our relay. Same price either way. Dictation in your own language is free forever, hold left Option and talk.
Translation covers English, Spanish, Russian, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Dutch, and more — pick any pair. Dictation covers the languages your device supports on-device.
No. Bosun keeps no history of what you type, dictate, translate, or copy — no logs, no account, on either the iPhone keyboard or the Mac app. On your own key it never touches us at all; on Pro it passes through and is gone the same second, never written down.
